It's not every day a fan gets to announce their favourite team's newest player.
On June 27 and 28, the 2025 NHL Entry Draft took place in Los Angeles, California, with many Kings fans in attendance.
Early on Saturday, a youthful Kings fan named Jeremy was sitting in the third row when he spotted NHL Commissioner Bill Daly and asked him if he could announce a draft selection for the team.
As the draft went on, Jeremy and Daly locked eyes again and a few minutes later, a show producer from the draft asked Jeremy to announce Los Angeles' seventh-round pick.
Despite being the last (seventh) round of the draft, Jeremy brought the energy to the crowd as he announced the Kings had selected Kelowna Rockets defenceman Will Sharpe with the 216th overall pick.
After the draft, Sharpe attended the Kings' development camp from June 30 to July 3, and on the last day, the team brought Jeremy to the rink to meet Sharpe in person.
"That was awesome what you did," said Sharpe to Jeremy in a video posted by the Kings. "I think I got the best announcement, it made the whole experience a whole lot better."
Jeremy also revealed that before he met Sharpe in person, Sharpe messaged him on Instagram to thank him for the announcement.
"I wish him nothing but the best," said Jeremy.
