Editor: Re: pro-HST campaign signs. Bob Simpson, Independent MLA for Cariboo North

I’m a Canuck fan by marriage.

Many of the progressive policies and rights we enjoy have come from hard-won public protests; battles that were won only through personal sacrifice by our predecessors, often involving bloodshed, sometimes even death.

Editor: Today’s question facing British Columbians, in their yes or no vote for the HST or PST/GST, is whether to vote yes to return to the old dual tax system of PST/GST, or vote no to keep the HST.

Is fear of lawsuits and management’s scrutinization the motivation behind the decline of some police agencies use of Tasers? Management’s micro-analysis appears to have begun with the Braidwood commission’s conclusion in June 2010 that, “The use of the conducted energy weapon (Taser) on Robert Dziekanski (2007 death at Vancouver Airport) was not justified.”

Editor: Mr. Walter Cobb seems to think the only thing that matters is the Liberal bunch with Kristy Crunch getting their HST through regardless of the untruths they are practicing.

British Columbians will soon receive their HST referendum ballot in the mail, and will have a very important decision to make.
