Once again I have to give my head a shake and wonder out loud … where did all the fun police come from and what ever happened to the idea that a man was king of his castle?

I was pleasantly surprised with Premier Christy Clark’s first Throne Speech last week because it contained more than just her “jobs strategy.”

Editor: My family and I have lived in Williams Lake for seven years. In those seven years we have enjoyed the use of the rec centre for all kinds of varied things. Swimming and skating lessons for my kids, watching all kinds of shows in the Gibraltar room, and birthday parties to name a few.

Premier Christy Clark’s first throne speech promised money for B.C.’s education system, but the province must do a whole lot more to ensure the next generation of British Columbians won’t be at a disadvantage on the world stage.
