Five Williams lake swimmers were in Nanaimo over the weekend to compete in the BC High School Provincial championships.

Aliya Grant, Jadyn Grant, Jordyn Stokes, Rowan Smith and Braedi Hamar were down to represent the Lake City Falcons.

Head coach and teacher sponsor Chad Webb said the athletes had a tough first day which meant not many second swimmers made the finals on Day 2.

“But that spurred on the girls who moved up two spots in the 400 free relay from eight to sixth place with some solid swims. The girls had one more swim in the 200 free relay where they finished with an impressive bronze medal and beat last year’s relay time with a younger team.”

Webb said the girls want to thank the PAC and SD27 for all their support to go to the competition.
