A local swimmer is turning heads after her most recent results.
Annica Stalker is a member of the Williams Lake Blue Fins Swim Club, and has been recognized nationally for her performance in Victoria at the B.C. provincial championships in March. She ranked in the top 10 in all of Canada in two events.
In the 100m freestyle event, Stalker recorded a time of 1:02.79, placing sixth nationally. In the 50m freestyle, she ranked seventh in the country with a time of 28.67.
The Blue Fins posted how proud they are of Stalker on their Facebook page,
“This is such a well-deserved and hard-earned accolade,” they wrote. “We are so prod of and inspired by you.”
Chad Webb, Blue Fins Swim Club head coach, said Stalker is an incredibly driven and determined individual.
“She is highly competitive and races every chance she can” he said. “She encourages teammates no matter the results and is appreciated by all her team.”
Webb also added that Stalker is extremely coachable, and loves to improve and progress tot he next level in everything she does.
