Some Blue Fins Swim Club athletes travelled down to Penticton for the Swim BC North & Interior Winter Divisional Championships Feb. 24 and 25. The Blue Fins raced against 15 teams of swimmers from all over the province, including the Okanagan, the Kootenays, Kamloops, Prince George, Prince Rupert, and even a team from Whitehorse.

With only one set of finals this year, swimmers had to give every race their all in the morning prelim sessions in order to earn a coveted spot in finals, and the competition for those 10 spots was fierce, reported assistant head coach Amanda Nemeth.

“Our team did a great job of not only qualifying for finals, but digging deep and making big improvements on their morning swims,” said Nemeth, noting the swimmers represented the club well.
