The small wildfire west of Penticton was quickly declared held by BC Wildfire Service after it was reported on July 8.
The fire was downgraded in size after it was declared held at 4:40 p.m., with an estimated size of 0.2 hectares instead of the earlier 0.6 hectares.
The cause of the fire was also updated to be believed to be human-caused.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A small wildfire has been reported about 30 kilometres west of Penticton and eight kilometres north-west of the Apex Mountain Resort community.
The fire is currently listed at 0.6 hectares in size. According to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
BCWS currently has two initial attack crews, two helicopters, two single ground resources and a water tender on site.
There are not currently any evacuation alerts or orders due to the fire.
