The central Island's LGBTQ choir has an uplifting afternoon of music planned on the eve of Pride month.
The Aviva Chorus will present 'Pride in Every Beat: Songs to Lift You Higher' at Brechin United Church on May 31.
A press release from the choir previews that the concert will be filled with vibrant music, heartfelt storytelling, and an atmosphere of celebration and connection.
Kenton Willem will direct, Joëlle Rabu will host and James Darling will play piano.
"We're thrilled to be returning to the stage with a concert that lifts the spirit and honours the resilience and beauty of queer community," said Willem in the release. “This is more than a concert – it’s a joyful, musical gathering of hearts and voices.”
The concert will also feature the north Island's LGBTQ choir, Fieramente, with guest conductors Ali Romanow and Erinn Doncaster.
The concert starts at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance at http://avivachorus.ca or $30 at the door. Tickets are $5 for children and teens.
