The Rossland Museum is celebrating Canada Day in style.
The museum is putting on a family fun party and ceremony for all ages, in recognition of Canada's 158th birthday since Confederation in 1867.
Join the Rossland Museum staff and guests at its July 1 Canada Day celebration on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Check out our games, crafts, and bouncy house fun, grab some food, and settle down to enjoy the show," read a museum release.
Performances include those by Michael Gifford, founder of the Joe Hill Coffeehouse, at 11 a.m., the Gold Fever Follies at around noon, the Golden City Fiddlers at 1 p.m., and the UCRA Mountain String Band at 2 p.m.
Special guests include the Autonomous Sinixt who will open festivities with a ceremony at noon, followed by remarks by MLA Steve Morissette, an address from Rossland Mayor Andy Morel, the singing of the national anthem, and - of course - cake.
Another highlight will be a screening of the Sinixt short film "Take it to the Water," in addition to a Sinixt colouring book session at 3 p.m.
Those in a celebratory mood can also enjoy homemade treats from Hooper's Bakery and the Trail Pastry Shop courtesy of the City of Rossland, sausages and hot dogs from the Rossland Golden City Lions Club, a bouncy house from Jump N Fly, crafts and lawn games and face painting.
Admission is free, donations are welcome, so don't miss it.
