The Arrowsmith Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists will present its annual spring juried exhibition at the McMillan Arts Centre starting April 1 in Parksville.

This showcase will celebrates the talents of local artists, as well as an opportunity to purchase artwork, according to a news release by the MAC.

"We invite you to visit, explore, and be inspired — come say hello and immerse yourself in a celebration of creativity," the release said.

This year will be unique since the Arrowsmith Chapter marks its 30th anniversary as a hub for artistic appreciation.

An opening reception and awards presentation is planned for April 5, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., where people can meet the artists and witness the unveiling of this year’s award-winning works.

Visitors will have the chance to cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award. Everyone who votes will be entered into a draw for an original painting donated by a member artist.

The Arrowsmith FCA Chapter hosts juried exhibitions featuring a range of styles, from abstract to representational across various media, including watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, sculpture and mixed media.

Each piece is rigorously selected by a panel of three FCA Signature Members, ensuring a collection that shows mastery of composition, colour, perspective, light and technique.

The exhibition will be hosted at the MAC (133 McMillan St.) from April 1 to April 27.
