A Williams Lake teen is planning to direct Mathilda the Musical and invites students interested to audition Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 at Williams Lake Secondary School.
Ella Kruus said the auditions will be held at 3:30 p.m. both days in the school's drama room for students in grade eight to 12.
Sign-up sheets are available at Columneetza in the office and at Williams Lake Secondary School outside the drama room.
Kruus has performed with the Williams Lake Studio Theatre and in musical theatre at the Cariboo Festival of the Arts and has gathered a support team from the community to help with the production.
Sharon Hoffman and Elaine Sager are doing choral direction, Jessie Chapin, Eileen Alberton and Natalie Easthope are doing backstage stuff like props, costumes and stage management, she said.
Teachers assisting her are the band teacher Laura Eilers and French immersion Noemi Searls are also assisting with the production.
"We have Venta Rutauskas in coordination with the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society helping with acting direction and managing our budget, and two grade 10 students Sarah Shoults and Soraya Lothrop doing choreography with my help, " Ella said.
