Scout Island will be hosting its 25th annual spring plant and yard sale from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Scout Island Nature House. Veggie and flower starts, annuals and perennials, books, house hold items, sports gear and much more will be available to purchase. The Williams Lake Farmers' Market season is kicking off with Seedling Saturday and Earlybird Farmers' Market from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m at the Kiwanis Park site. The market will then run weekly on Fridays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. starting May 9, and on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. starting June 10.
St. Peter's Anglican Church is having a Giant Plant Sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 549 Carson Drive. Get your garden started with the purchase of tomatoes, kale, cucumbers, zucchinis, herbs, select flowers, perennials, house plants, sunflowers and more.
Vaisakhi ceremony and celebration at the Singhsaba - Western Singh Sabha on Pine Street in Williams Lake. Join the community celebration of the harvest, and flag raising. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and end around 3 p.m.

Hike for Hospice at Scout Island from noon to 3 p.m. Come out and enjoy the sunshine, share memories, walk with friends, family or four-legged. Bring a picture of your loved one to put on our memory board. More information is available on the Williams Lake Hospice Society website and Facebook page.

I'm Still Here. The Williams Lake Film Club is screening Walter Salles's award winning drama on Thursday, May 8 at Paradise Cinemas. Winner of the Best International Feature at this year's Academy Awards. Doors open 6:30 p.m., show start 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 and available now at The Open Book. Rated PG.

Mother's Day Weekend Pottery & Art Sale at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre in Williams Lake. Cariboo Art Society and Cariboo Potter's Guild will be holding a joint sale event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lions Mother Day Breakfast and Market
Moms eat for free, starting at 8:30, Sunday May 11 in the Save-On parking lot where the Williams Lake Lions Club will be working hard serving a delicious breakfast where. Pancakes, eggs and sausages will be flying off the grill in this annual event which is held in conjunction with a Mother’s Day Market. Where local vendors with be selling everything such as crafts, plants, jewelry and other interesting items.
