Here is a poem I wrote inspired by the arrival of spring.

The Wildflowers

They grow where the world has been shattered

when the earth is broken and void of life

They transcend the suffering to simply exist

to be real for a moment like you and me

They thrive when unseen and somehow survive

living off the land for days in the sun

They are colourful and without guessing know

without question bright and can see the show

They appear year after year and only hear

never listen and see what others watch so closely

They come from the earth to shine the light

make the world bright and are called wildflowers
