The city of Williams Lake honoured longtime emergency support services volunteer Eva Navrot, centre with certificate at the regular council meeting on June 24, 2025.

There were many warm words as the city celebrated a longtime volunteer who is leaving the community.

At the regular city council meeting on June 24, 2025, Eva Navrot was given flowers, a certificate of appreciation and many words of recognition for the years of dedication and volunteerism she has given the community as an emergency support services volunteer.

For at least eight years, regardless of the temperature or time of day, Narvot has been there to help, said Dave Dickson, the city's emergency service coordinator.

"It's definitely going to be a loss for our community," said Dickson, of Navrot's departure to Merritt, where she and her husband will be closer to family.

Mayor Surinderpal Rathor added his voice to the praise for Navrot, calling her "the best human being."

"Eva, I salute you," said Rathor.
