Sun shines full on Williams Lake's first Pixie Menagerie market

Another market for vendors and guests of all kinds was a success

Vendors from as far as Smithers travelled to Williams Lake on Sunday, June 22 for the first ever Pixie Menagerie Oddities and Curios Faire.

"Pixie went amazingly," said Wanda Sheppard who co-organized the market with Sunny Dyck. "All the vendors were nothing short of amazing with their goodies."

Jewellery, wood carvings and cutting boards, fudge, jams, baked goods, soaps and even tarot readings were on offer at the market which was visited and run by folks dressed for the occasion. The faire took place in the Thompson Rivers University fields from 4 to 9 p.m.

"Overall it was perfect, even to the point of where the universe blessed us with perfect weather," Sheppard said, adding that the Chilcotin Chills fruit ice cream truck rocked.

This was the first Pixie Menagerie market, and Sheppard said it will likely come again next year. She and Dyck organize several markets throughout the year, creating a scene for the all types of artists and interests with their Bewitching Market and, another first, their Misfits and Misletoe Christmas Market.
