Officials at the West Chilcotin Health Centre in Tatla Lake said they are pleased to announce a very successful first Visiting Optometrist Clinic Sept. 10-11.
Approximately 40 residents benefited from this service, saving them a five hour-return trip to Williams Lake.
A new $10,000 Slit Lamp (an eye magnifying device) that was donated to the clinic by the West Chilcotin Health Care Society (WCHCS) made the optometrist visit feasible.

Forty per cent of the funding was attained through co-operation with the Cariboo Regional District.
The WCHCS said it would like to thank the staff of the FYidoctors clinic — Dr. Juliana Lam, Alexis Hemmond and Michelle Margetts — for taking the time to help the local community. The plan calls for yearly visits to the health centre.
