May 16

The TEST - Wildfire resiliency movie viewing and expert panel. Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex, doors at 6:30 p.m., film at 7 p.m., panel discussion at 8 p.m. Free event.

May 17

Live, Laugh, Likely. A day of games, prizes, snacks and information from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Likely. Free event geared towards children and youth led by the Interior Health Mental Health and Substance Use team.

May 18-20

Intro to Rock Climbing. Williams Lake Climbing Association is hosting outdoor rock climbing workshops at Esler Bluffs. Professional instruction, gear supplied, barbecue lunch, $90 per person. Must be 12 years and older. Under 16 must have a guardian with them at the course. Contact wlclimbing@gmail.com to register.

Likely May Day events. May 18 Pancake breakfast 8:30 a.m., market 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., parade 10 a.m., kid and adult races, DJ at Likely Lodge 8 p.m. until midnight. Mount Polley fishing derby goes May 18-20

Lake City Secondary School Grow Operators plant sale at Surplus Herby’s 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bike Rodeo. Behind the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Centre 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., bike riders can come to have their bikes and helmets checked, get riding tips, and practice their skills.

BGC Williams Lake Club to celebrate 30 years of serving the community and their youth. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. come celebrate with an open house. Snacks, program info, and memory lane photos

Williams Lake Youth Rodeo Club Little Britches Saturday and Sunday at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds.

Lakers Car Club hosts the annual roundup poker run Saturday from noon until 3 p.m., followed by a cruise through the city at 4 p.m. The Show and Shine is Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. on Oliver Street and First Avenue.

Royal Purple Society is hosting a Walk, Bike, Run, Wheel fundraising event in Boitanio Park in support of BC Brain Injury at 2:30 p.m. Participate for prizes and goodie bags.
