A special presentation of the film Portraits from a Fire at Paradise Cinemas at 4:45 p.m. both days. Director Trevor Mack said he feels the film is a reminder of how the Tl’etinqox community can rally together under a singular vision.
“Our people are proud to see and share a story we created that is about healing, forgiveness, and compassion,” Mack said. “It’s not everyday you get to see the people you know on the big screen, so we want to keep sharing that experience with our people, and with the people of Williams Lake.”
Rick Hansen reception

Everyone is invited to a reception for hometown hero Rick Hansen at the Tourism Discovery Centre beginning at 3:30 p.m. There will be music performed by Don Alder and the Cariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddlers and guests, cake and the opportunity to view some Rick Hansen memorabilia.
95th Annual Williams Lake Stampede
June 29 to July 2
First event kicks off Thursday, 6:50 p.m. in the grandstands, featuring bull riding, mountain race, wild horse race and wild cowgirls race.
The first rodeo goes Friday, 5:30 p.m., second rodeo Saturday at 1:45 p.m. and third rodeo Sunday at 1:45 p.m. Starting Friday there will be breakfasts served 7 a.m. FreschCo and Save-on-Foods, 11 a.m. at the legion and infield concession stand all day.
The legion will host steak nights on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Guitarist Don Alder concert
June 30
World champion guitarist Don Alder will be to his hometown for the Williams Lake Stampede and for a couple performances.
He will be play during a reception for Rick Hansen at the Visitors Information Centre Thursday, June 29 and will do a concert at St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m.
Admission by donation with complimentary goodies supplied.
