Taseko Mines Ltd. Gibraltar hosts season of sharing campaign

The 200 bags filled that night will go to the Salvation Army for distribution

During the Mustangs home game Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024. Gibraltar Mine staff invites the public to fill a bag for distribution to people in need.

People attending the Mustangs versus Beaver Valley hockey game Saturday, Dec. 14 in Williams Lake were invited to participate in helping people in need. 

Taseko Mines Gibraltar staff had a table in the foyer where the public was invited to fill a cloth bag with items such as shampoo, a tooth brush, a toque and a candy cane. 

By the end of the night, 200 bags had been filled for what was called A Season of Giving, with all of the bags going to the Salvation Army for distribution to people in need, said Liselle Pierce, community relations administrator for Taseko Mines Ltd. 

Anyone participating in the initiative could also enter their name to win a KUMA blanket chair.

Irene Lulua won the chair, while the final score of the game was 5-2 for Beaver Valley.
