Second annual Bewitching Market in Williams Lake a wicked success

The market ran from 4p.m. to 9p.m. and hosted 58 vendors selling spooky items

Over 500 ghosts and ghouls haunted the Thompson Rivers University gymnasium in Williams Lake on Saturday, Oct. 12 to shop local with a twist.

Sunny Dyck is one of the Bewitching Market's organizers and said she could “talk for days about how wicked of a night it was.” With 58 vendors in attendance, there was something for all ages at the market including jewellery, teddies, broom sticks and spooky treats. Some vendors even made exclusive products for the Bewitching Market or debuted new work.

Dyck said the market has been a dream of hers and co-organizer Wanda Sheppard’s, wanting to create a space for vendors who don’t quite fit in the genres of a typical market. This was the market’s second year in Williams Lake and Dyck said both surpassed expectations.

“Our witchy hearts are very enchanted with the way it went,” Dyck said, adding vendors have already been asking about plans for next year’s market.
