Roller derby has been rolling along in Williams Lake for over a decade and those roller-curious can come out tonight, June 24 to try on some skates.
As part of the free Participaction Month activities being offered by the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Centre, the Caribruisers Roller Derby group will be opening up their Monday night training night for a free skate.
Monday, June 24, at 5:30 p.m. is the free open skate, but the group practices regularly every week all year long, except when coach Sunny Dyck heads off for her own competition and events.
When the ice is out, they practice in the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.
This year they will be returning to the Williams Lake Stampede Parade for the first time in four years.
Dyck said she is pretty pumped to see the skaters back on the streets of Williams Lake and in the lineup for the big event.
