Those in need of a safe ride home for themselves and their vehicles this holiday season can call Operation Red Nose volunteers in Williams Lake.
Operation Red Nose begins Friday, Nov. 24.
Days of operation include Nov. 24 and 25, Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15. 16 and 31, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
“The public should know that they do have to have a car with them for us to drive them home, we are not permitted to pick up passengers who do not have a car, it is Operation Red Nose (ORN) policy nationally,” said Deb Pickering who is organizing ORN for the second year in a row.
Rides are by donation and at the end of the program all funds are divided equally among four local non-profit youth groups.
The parents of children in the youth groups provide the volunteers who are on the road giving safe rides home.
Operation Red Nose accepts cash or cheques made out to Williams Lake Community Policing or, this year they have eTransfer capability: saferidehomewl@gmail.com
To contact Operation Red Nose for information or for a ride call Deborah at 250-392-2222 or email williamslake@operationrednose.com.
