The Cowichan Neighbourhood House Association in Chemainus is bridging the gaps in the community by bringing people together.

There are some new regular programs in effect this month and other occasional events being planned.
Chair yoga is currently running Wednesdays from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in the main building until the end of February and will then start up again in April on a date to be announced. Admission is by donation.
A knitting club meets Thursday afternoons at 12:30 p.m., also in the main building Unit 1.
The pantry, with food for those who don’t have any, is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Soup and sandwich is prepared daily from Monday through Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Foosball and board games can be utilized any time the facility is open.
On the horizon is a book club. “We are wanting to facilitate a good time for folks to gather over a good book,” noted Tes Cournoyer, the volunteer/program coordinator at the CNHA.

The CNHA is also in the process of facilitating Food Safe training in March and Cournoyer can also be contacted for those details.
“We are looking for volunteers at the moment to fill gaps in our schedule,” she added. “If you are an interested community member, we need board members, a kitchen supervisor, host and leads.”
