Cowichan Neighbourhood House Association, a volunteer-driven community hub in Chemainus, will be participating in a province-wide celebration of Neighbourhood House Day on May 14, 2025.
This event is part of Neighbourhood House Week in British Columbia, officially proclaimed for May 4-10, 2025, to recognize the vital role neighbourhood houses play in fostering inclusive, connected communities.
CNHA’s mission is to strengthen the local community by reducing the impacts of poverty and homelessness and to foster a sense of belonging that uplifts everyone. The organization serves as an accessible and inclusive low-barrier resource for all community members, providing services including free hot lunches, youth drop-ins, adult education workshops, a free store offering clothing, household items and other essentials. CNHA also assists residents with navigating government forms and accessing vital services.
Cowichan Neighbourhood House invites community members, donors and volunteers to visit their location at 9806 Willow St. in Chemainus on May 14 to learn more about its programs and services. Engaging with CNHA offers community members an opportunity to contribute to a resilient and inclusive community.
