The Ladysmith Museum Gallery invites artists and artisans from Ladysmith, Cedar, Yellowpoint and surrounding areas to participate in upcoming art exhibits and sell their work in the museum gift shop. This initiative, led by gallery coordinator Kathleen Oliver Stroman, aims to highlight regional talent and foster community engagement through art.
Artists interested in showcasing and selling their work are encouraged to contact Stroman via email at artkath1011@gmail.com. Submissions should include a brief personal introduction and images of the artwork. The gallery is particularly interested in pieces that align with the following themes: animals, water and landscapes, black and white art, and works by First Nations artists.
The gallery, situated in the attic of the Ladysmith Museum at 721 First Ave., offers a unique space for local and emerging artists to display their creations.
In addition to work for the gallery space, the museum’s gift shop is seeking new handcrafted items from local artists and crafters to refresh its inventory.
With a soft opening at the Ladysmith Museum Gallery planned for the end of May, artists are encouraged to get their submissions in soon.
