Every little bit counts.
That’s what Marie Sharpe Elementary School principal Calvin Dubray told his students Friday over the loudspeaker minutes before Kirsty Bowers’ Grade 5 and 6 class helped shave off their principal’s Movember moustache.
Bowers’ class was chosen because they raised the most funds during a Movember campaign at the school, but there were some other classes that were close contenders.
“We raised $607.37,” Dubray said, noting some of his family and friends would be adding to that amount.
The funds will go to the Movember Foundation, a multinational charity that aims to raise awareness and money for men’s health.

According to the Movember Foundation’s website, men die on average six years earlier than women.
Dubray welcomed his wife, Sylvia Dubray, who he said had arrived to witness the removal of his moustache.
“She is very excited to see it gone,” he said smiling.
