Horsefly residents have been enjoying the opportunity to skate outdoors thanks to some members of the community who made a rink on Harpers Lake.

““There is a rink and a skating loop,” said community member Linda Bartsch. “Harpers Lake is right downtown, behind the garage. The homes on Walters Drive have frontage on it.”

Community members Evan Frank, Don Morris, Owen Knox, Wayne Johnson and Frank Wijma have been plowing it with their quads, she added.

Harpers Lake was named after the Harpers brothers from Horsefly’s early days who eventually moved away and started Gang Ranch, Bartsch said.
