The annual Hike for Hospice fundraiser and Family Fun Day Sunday at Scout Island was, by all accounts, a great success.

Williams Lake Hospice Society staff and volunteers joined families, individuals and groups to officially open the boardwalk Willow Trail at Scout Island.

Funds raised through the hike will stay in the community to ensure more receive the end-of-life care they wish for.

The hike is the largest single-day hospice palliative care fundraising awareness activity in Canada and takes place in more than 100 communities throughout the country.
