Deni House celebrates the season

Music, games and food were all part of the day's event

Residents, staff and musical visitors celebrated the Christmas season Thursday, Dec. 19 at Deni House in Williams Lake.

Activity aid Michelle Erlandson said after the residents enjoyed a sing-along led by visiting local performers Denise Deschene, Sharon Hoffman and Harry Jennings, there would be games and a turkey luncheon.

Registered nurse Fay Breck was singing along joyfully to the tunes and stood close to some signage she'd created for the season.

"In a world full of Grinches be a Cindy Louwho," one of the signs read.

Jennings, who often does an Elvis impersonation, made sure to add similar flare to some of the tunes.

Enjoying the sing-along were Sandy Nelson and her mom, Agatha Nelson.

"It's my birthday today," Sandy said as they sat close together, smiling.

A few moments later the musicians sang Happy Birthday to both Sandy and Erlandson, whose birthday it was as well.

Erlandson said on Christmas Day she will help deliver gifts to all of the residents, thanks to the efforts and organizing of Caren Pritchard, Gibraltar Mines and the Old Age Pensioners Organization.
