Harpist Jean Welburn, Cariboo Brass Band, and Teri Smith from Roads End Farm, with a one-woman Shakespearean short play, will be among the entertainers this Thursday evening at the Medieval Dinner Theatre and Silent Auction hosted by the Cariboo Growers Cooperative and partners.

“It will be an evening of feasting and fun and live entertainment,” says lakecity dietitian Tatjana Bates

Something called jostling, a silent auction, and other surprise events are also on the entertainment schedule, Bates says.

The food served at the banquet has all been grown or raised locally and supplied by the Cariboo Growers Cooperative.

“Medieval costumes are encouraged but optional,” says Bates.

The premier silent auction item is a forest scene carved in red cedar by chainsaw artist Ken Sheen. Bates says Sheen created the scene to celebrate National Forest Week in Sept. 2010.

Pioneer Log Homes donated the five-foot log for the project.

Baskets and items donated by local farmers and businesses will also be on the auction block.

The event takes place this Thursday, Feb. 3 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Beeotcheese Bistro and Bakery.

Tickets for the Medieval themed fundraiser for Cariboo Growers are available at Cariboo Growers, the BIA and Community Futures.
