Graduates from Williams Lake and Columneetza secondary schools joined with students from the GROW program, Cariboo Adventist Academy and the Maranatha Christian schools in the Dry Grad 2011 celebrations Saturday.
Formal graduation ceremonies for WLSS and Columneetza students were held at the Cariboo Memorial Complex during the day.
The evening festivities began with the annual Dry Grad parade to the Cariboo Memorial Complex at 6 p.m. followed by the prom and all night Dry Grad party in the complex with the theme Around the World. There were games and activities scheduled throughout the night.
There were a total of 244 School District 27 graduates, 85 from WLSS, 159 from Columneetza, and 62 from GROW/Skyline. This year 136 graduates shared in scholarships and bursaries with a total value of $157,050.
The Maranatha Christian School with 12 graduates and Cariboo Adventist Academy with seven in-school graduates and eight online graduates are holding their formal graduation ceremonies this weekend.
