The Williams Lake Bighorns midget lacrosse team finished second among four teams in Prince George June 25-26 at the Great White North Zone Playoffs.

Ty Taypotat of Regina, Sask. on horse Blue Jeans scores an 81.0 during Saturday’s bareback competition at the Williams Lake Stampede, which earned him a second-place finish on that day.

Chad Besplug from Charesholm, Alta. rides Motown in Saturday’s bull-riding event at the Williams Lake Stampede. He was given no score but was granted a re-ride later and scored 88.0.

Riske Creek’s Virgil Poffenroth ropes his calf during Sunday’s final tie down roping performance. Unfortunately for Poffenroth, he broke the barrier early for a 20.2-second time, still good enough for third.

The 32nd Annual Williams Lake Stampede Rugby Tournament kicks off this Friday, July 1 at the Ottoman Drive Rugby Fields where men’s and women’s rugby clubs from around the province will hit the pitch to do battle for the event’s coveted Stampede belt buckles.
