Lacrosse regular season ends in Vernon, Armstrong

The North Okanagan Reapers, Armstrong Shamrocks and Vernon Tigers all look ahead to the postseason.

The North Okanagan Iron Ghost Construction Reapers closed out their 2025 Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League regular season as guests of the Cranbrook Blackwolves for a weekend doubleheader in the East Kootenays.

Senior Lacrosse

The Armstrong Shamrocks and Vernon Tigers finished off their Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League (TOSLL) regular season with losses. 

Vernon, winless at 0-8, was looking for their first victory against the Kelowna Raiders on Friday, July 4. Despirte an admirable effort, the Tigers would lose, 12-7. 

Armstrong was in Kamloops to battle the Rattlers on Friday. The low-scoring affair saw just 14 total goals scored, with the Rattlers winning, 9-5.

Leading the way for the Shamrocks was Ryan Harwood's two goals, while Kyle Versteeg chipped in with one goal and two assists.

Playoffs begin on Thursday, July 10 for the Tigers, who play the top-ranked Kelowna Raiders (8-1) at home. Game two is eight days later, in Kelowna on Friday, July 18.

The Shamrocks (5-4) are at home for game one of their playoff series, looking for revenge against the Rattlers (5-4). Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11. 

Game two is in Kamloops on Sunday.

Junior Lacrosse

After a pair of tight back-to-back games, the North Okanagan Reapers head into the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League (TOJLL) postseason as the fourth seed.

The Reapers tied the Cranbrook Blackwolves 7-7 on Saturday, July 5, before dropping a close 6-5 affair the following day to the Wolves to wrap up the regular season.

North Okanagan finished fourth in the TOJLL standings, with a 6-9-1 record to grab the final playoff spot. 

Ahead of them sit the South Okanagan Flames (7-6-3), Kamloops Venom (8-6-2) and Kelowna Kodiaks (10-4-2) as the league now plays a round-robin playoffs. Starting on Friday, July 18, each team will play one another, before the top two teams meet in the final, slated for Sunday, July 20.
