The Esler Sports Complex was busy with ball players and spectators as the year end tournament for the Williams Lake Slo-Pitch League (WLSPL) took place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21.
In all 20 teams participated in four divisions.
In the A division the finals saw a battle between the Rotten Eggs and Rowdies, with the Rotten Eggs taking the win 10-9 in an extra inning.
The Naturals won the B division, coming out victorious over the Wild Chickens 9-6.
In the C division the Broke Millionaires won over Esket-Em 14-8.
And, in the D division, Ole School came out ahead of the Sluggers, 14-8.
WLSPL president Linda Barbondy-Rich said both the tournament and the over-all league were excellent this year.
Next up will be a Kings and Queens tournament slated for Sept. 17 and 18 with eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams. This tournament is being hosted by the Rowdies who will also have a men’s and women’s team competing in the tournament.
