The provincial election is coming up May 12 and every group is demanding more hand outs.
It would be ideal if the government could just print more money wouldn’t it?
But that is not the case; they have to get the money from the taxpayers — namely, you and me.
But no matter. It is very important that you get out and vote for the person or party that you think will serve you best. If you will be away on May 12 there are advanced polls.
March and April were extremely busy at the Seniors Activity Centre so it is a welcome relief to have the month of May low keyed.
The Senior Carollers are winding down with a get together on May 3 and they have to decide the fate of the choir. They are in need of a choir director as Sherry Taylor is leaving the area.
It will be a shame to have this group disband as the remaining few really enjoy singing and they seem to have so much fun, and it is so healthy for them to be involved.
The boutique is expanding. They have clothing for children up to size five now. The outfits are so well made and one of a kind.
I only wish my grandchildren were young enough so that I could buy those cute outfits. They also have items like crib blankets, pot holders and walking sticks, etc.
So readers, come in and browse around. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Oops, I almost forgot this item. The Old Age Pensioners Organization (OAPO) is having their regional meeting on May 4 starting with a lunch at noon at the Seniors Activity Centre.
There will be a guest speaker to speak on representation agreements.
This is very important for anyone to have, so that their wishes on how they are cared for is adhered to when the time comes that they are not able to speak for themselves.
Everyone is welcomed to attend. Just come in and sign up on the sheet pasted on the board.
If the weather will only warm up, I can’t wait to start my little patch of garden.
Until next month.
