FRENCH CONNECTION: View from the hospital

I certainly have no complaints about the service - the staff all make you feel safe

I haven't been watching much TV lately, missing some days because I've been in the hospital.

I did see the Juno Awards. That show lived up to all the hype and in my opinion they were a joy to watch. Michale Bublé fiercely burst with joy in praising Canada, he literally bubbled, and it was such a great change from the election and the creed coming from President Trump.

Then there was Anne Murray in her big Canada sweater. She said she'd had a lot of pressure to join the U.S. but she just couldn't do it. We're glad she didn't.

Being in the hospital isn't really my idea of a good time, but it is what it is. I certainly have no complaints about the service - the staff all make you feel safe. As I collect years, I collect ailments and that isn't the fault of the medical system.

Question. When the election is over will negativity go with it. Can a new government, whoever they may be, have open minds, not clinched fists, and do what needs to be done to make Canada an even better place to be?

Let's keep hoping.

One thing they might look at is making life a bit easier for low income seniors, along with other low income residents. Surely one's income should ensure a decent roof over one's head and a decent meal on the table.

Last but not least. Thank you for your response to my receiving he Apple Pie award. Now that I'm a helpee rather than a helper it's not as much fun. I'd rather be the helper, but about the help I can do is smile. I guess that's better than being a grump.
