The Williams Lake Salvation army has distributed more food hampers in each of the first five months of this year than it has at any time in the same five months since 2007.

With the help of the Green Heat Initiative, School District 27 will proceed with the construction of a pellet boiler at Alexis Creek school this fall and has approved a pellet boiler for Tatla Lake school.

Mountview Elementary School student Beau Sanford, 5, enjoys playing learning games on an IPad in Wendy Bernier’s kindergarten class. Mountview students are taught to use computers that also help them learn various other skills and subjects, including numbers and letters.

Grade 6 students in Cindy Neufeld’s class at Mountview elementary participated in the first annual Starlight Children’s Foundation national art project earlier this year.

The weather this week could allow for some moderate snow melt, thus potentially helping to mitigate some flooding potential across the province.

Students at Mountview Elementary School are eagerly learning about reading, writing, and arithmetic, but they are also learning how to respect others and how to be independent thinkers.

Several groups will receive arts and culture grants.
