A little muddy and cut up, but otherwise OK
Alkali Lake’s Josh Johnson is treated by first aid personnel after being mowed down and dragged a short distance by a horse during Sunday’s Mountain Horse Race. Johnson was viewing the race from behind the spectator fence when a horse ridden by Langley competitor Christa Byrd came flying out of control through the spectator gate, clipped a vehicle and hit Johnson before stopping and tossing Byrd off. Luckily, neither Byrd nor Johnson sustained any serious injuries.

Jimmy Lulua, in front, races to the finish line in the Williams Lake Stampede's Thursday Mountain Race and won first place. One rider in the race fell from his horse but wasn't seriously injured; he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
