The 40th annual Cowichan Women's Flag Football season has come to an end with the Crew capturing yet another league championship but the Ravens besting the Crew in the playoffs, where they soared to victory, dominating the Valley Crew 44-12.
"The Ravens' impressive performance on both sides of the field earned them a long-awaited win," said the league's Chris Mann. "The Crew fought hard but struggled to find momentum, scoring only twice."
The week before, the Ravens had met the Cougars in the semi-finals for the right to play in the finals while the Crew took on the Victoria Wolfpack. Both teams emerging victorious set up a rematch of last year.
The season officially concluded with an 80s-themed awards banquet at Genora Hall.
"The event recognized outstanding achievements, with MVP honours going to Jaimie Olson of Law, the Best Rookie given to Grace Paddle of the Storm.
