Multiple wins cap off another season of minor hockey in Williams Lake

The Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association had a successful year

It was another successful season for minor hockey in Williams Lake.

The Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association capped off the year in style, with multiple Timberwolves teams winning gold and others coming home with some sort of hardware.

Starting with gold, the U13 rep team took home top prize at the Richmond Spring Classic International Tournament. They beat out seven other teams from around the province and Washington state to take home gold and a Division Champions banner.

The U11 Atom Development team travelled to Osoyoos and participated in the 50th anniversary of the Atom Fiesta. Like the U13 rep team, they also brought home the gold. They battled hard against Cloverdale, Golden and Quesnel in the semifinal, and ultimately fought their way to the gold medal game against hosts Osoyoos. The U11 squad went on to win the final by a score of 6-3, bringing home the gold along with some extra bling to celebrate.

Also bringing home the gold was the U13 Tier II Timberwolves team, as they beat Winfield in the decisive game to win the championship.

The U15 Tier II team battled hard all season long and brought home the silver medal in the BC Championship.

“These boys battled hard and left it all out on the ice,” the association posted on Facebook.

The Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association Annual General Meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at City Hall on April 25.
