The LCSS Tour Band is hosting a final concert in Williams Lake before setting off for a two-week trip in Greece and Italy.

A group of 42 musical students in Williams Lake are inviting the public to a free concert on Thursday, March 6, their last before setting off to Europe.

The Lake City Secondary School (LCSS) Touring Band will be performing at 5 p.m. at the LCSS Commons before heading to Greece and Italy for some sightseeing and overseas performances.

The band has been fundraising for two years to make this trip possible, a busy tour from March 12 to 24 during which they will visit Athens, Napflio, Pompeii, Rome, Florence and Venice.

"It will be a really busy trip, but one that everyone will remember," said Laura Eilers, LCSS band teacher.

Highlight stops include the Archaeological Site of Delphi, the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments, the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Basilica di San Marco, the Uffizi Galleries and more. The group, accompanied by seven chaperones, will also be taking an overnight ferry from Greece to Italy.

For Thursday's performance, the LCSS Commons are located at 640 Carson Drive and the performance will begin at 5 p.m.
