A Williams Lake man is scheduled in court Feb. 25, facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter and commit an indictable offence, robbery, and uttering threats.

Anthony Raven Paradis, 25, who is in custody, was scheduled to appear via video.

Paradis was wanted by police after a reported home invasion in the Esler area, just outside Williams Lake.

The home invasion is said to have occurred on Feb. 12 and Paradis was taken into custody by police on Feb. 21.

RCMP in Williams Lake had issued a release in the days after the home invasion, asking the public's help in apprehending Paradis, who they said was one of two suspects in relation to the violent incident, which RCMP stated they believe was targeted.

A resident of the home on Esler was reportedly attacked with an edged weapon and suffered serious injuries as a result. Items from the home were reportedly stolen as well, including cash. The suspects fled the scene when police arrived.

One suspect had already been taken into custody after police executed a search warrant at a residence on Second Avenue in Williams Lake, where RCMP said they found an edged weapon they believe was used in the attack.
