Two local businesses in Williams Lake will be providing their services at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex for the coming years.

Caribou Sources for Sports was awarded a three-year contract to operate the arena sports shop. The business offered the city a total rent of $2,612.50 for the first two years and $2,660 per year for the third to operate the sports shop. The bid from Caribou Ski Source for Sports was the only one received based on the request for proposals. The shop provides retail sales of sporting goods equipment and clothing, skate sharpening, and skate rentals at the arena. The business has operated the shop for the previous term as well, and bid a slightly lower rate for the opportunity to do it again.

Dog n Suds was awarded the food concession contract for the Cariboo Memorial Rec Complex, for a three-year contract as well. Dog n Suds will pay a monthly rent of $1,102 per month throughout the entire year. Previously, the contract was held by Karen's Place. Both businesses bid on operating the concession, with the winning proposal from Dog n Suds coming in at $5,630 higher than Karen's Place.

Both Caribou Ski and Dog n Suds will have an opportunity to renew their contract for a further two years after the three year term.
