Langley Township Fire Department and local RCMP were called to a structure fire shortly after midnight Wednesday in South Langley.
RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire in the 19600-block of 48 Avenue at about 12:25 a.m. on July 9.
Officers arrived to find a home fully engulfed in flames. The house was still under construction.
"We are working closely with the Langley City Fire Rescue Service to determine the cause of this fire," said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, of the Langley RCMP. "We appreciate the public’s patience, as there may be on going traffic disruptions in the area while the investigation continues."
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area between 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and anyone who may have dash camera footage, to contact the Langley RCMP and quote file 2025-21746.
A witness in the area who has spoken to police said multiple people reported hearing someone running through yards just prior to the fire.
