Parksville city councillor Mary Beil decided to withdraw her notice of motion, which had called for agendas to be prepared for council meetings at least seven working days ahead of time.

Beil told council on Feb. 3 she intended to bring the motion, which also included that any late additions be added no less than three working days ahead of the meeting, to the Feb. 19 meeting.

“I wanted to let people know that I had a very good conversation with our CAO [Keeva Kehler] regarding the topic and I learned more about the challenges that that can face for staff,” Beil said during council's Feb. 19 meeting.

She added that several suggestions came up at that meeting, which do not require a procedural bylaw.

“Hopefully that will alleviate some of the concern that I felt and I know that some other councillors have also felt,” Beil said.

The suggestions will come to a future meeting, to be determined.
