Williams Lake businesses looking for a facelift in 2025 can now apply for up to $5,000 in grant funds to help make it happen.

The city of Williams Lake will once again partner with the Northern Development Initiative Trust to provide $20,000 in funds for local commercial buildings in the downtown and along the highway commercial corridor.

“Improving business facades makes business areas more appealing to consumers, boosting the marketability of commercial spaces and supporting business viability and retention,” stated Beth Veenkamp, manager of economic development for the city in a release.

Applications will be accepted from Feb. 18, 2025 to April 1, 2025 for grants of up to $5,000 per business for projects budgeted at $2,000 or more. Only up to 50 per cent of a project cost will be covered if the project is less than $10,000.

Past recipients in Williams Lake have included The Open Book and PRO Physioworks.
