The emergency department is closed overnight at Cariboo Memorial Hospital beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Emergency services will be unavailable until 6 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Patients are advised they can access care at 100 Mile District General Hospital in 100 Mile House, GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, or Bella Coola General Hospital in Bella Coola during this time.
Interior Health issued notice of the temporary closure just after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Earlier this week the ER was closed on Sunday, Aug. 25 overnight.
All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Cariboo Memorial Hospital.
People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
