The Campbell River RCMP responded to a significant mental health crisis in the 300 block of Crawford Road on July 6.
"Police were initially advised of a 30-year-old male whose behaviour had turned dangerous and threatening at approximately 6 p.m. on July 6," reads a July 7 press release.
Officers from several RCMP units, such as general duty watches, the special victims unit, and the police dog services from Courtenay, attended the scene, closing off a small area. The man was called out of his home, taken into custody and then taken to the hospital without incident.
"The Campbell River RCMP are very thankful that this incident concluded peacefully. We are also very appreciative for the cooperation of everyone in the area during the heightened police presence," said Const. Maury Tyre.
