Get on the right side of the Laws as distinctive Americana and bluegrass duo John and Michelle Law serve up a good time at the Duncan Showroom on May 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Longevity John Falkner recalls meeting them in the early '90s when they first arrived in the Cowichan Valley, and remembers when they last graced the stage at the Garage Showroom sometime before 2013.

Hailing form Ontario, the couple has been crafting their charming country sound since their Vancouver Island days in the early 2000s and first gained international recognition through winning the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest, which secured them a Nashville songwriting deal. Captivating audiences for more than two decades, The Laws have earned media features on PBS, CMT, and even ET Canada. With six albums tucked under their guitar straps the pair has performed on stages across Canada, the U.S., and Australia, and with stops across the Island this month Longevity John is pleased that the Showroom will be one of them.

Tickets are $25 and can either be purchased at showroomproductions.ca or in person at the Duncan Showroom located at 131 Station St.

"Their harmonies and their Americana and Roots style of writing will win your hearts; it's almost bluegrass," said Falkner. "Watching them launch a critically acclaimed career as a singer/songwriter duo, has been a real treat."
