Parksville needs it's own recreational centre to serve this growing community.
It should come with a 50-metre pool, indoor pickleball courts that could be designed to be a multiple-use area, with an indoor jogging track, excercise equipment and an area set aside to create opportunities for residents and businesses.
The Ravensong retrofit was voted down because the expansion was not going to meet the needs of this growing community for the next five to 20 years.
We need to provide our residents, younger families and businesses with more options and a reason to live in the area. I'm sure sponsorship opportunities would present themselves in respect to building a new facility from the ground up.
There is a parcel of land that could be developed right next to the Oceanside Place skating rink.
